Sleeping Out to Raise Awareness

A student at Northwestern University is spending 35 nights
sleeping outside at a campus landmark in order to raise awareness of
homelessness. Nicky Smith, who has worked with the homeless population though
various organizations during his time at Northwestern, encourages a subset
approach to the problem of homelessness, pointing to veterans, single women and
their families, children, and individuals in need of drug or alcohol
rehabilitation.
