The Muslim Student Association at NC State is advocating for prayer room on campus. While there is currently a room designated for prayer in the school’s student union, students say the room is inconveniently located—and not always open. The lack of a suitable space affects Muslim students especially (read the article for information about why), and the University is invested in addressing the need. Together, the University and MSA are discussing a space that conforms to Muslim students’ immediate need, but that could, in the long run, be renovated to also accommodate students of other faiths.
