Last spring Students Taking Action Now: Darfur (STAND) held a series of protests pressuring the university to divest from companies whose businesses have benefited the Sudanese regime in Darfur. So far the administration has refused, citing the university’s policy of abstaining from taking political stances. Last quarter the student Social Justice Coalition proposed a set of administrative changes to university officials, including the disclosure of endowment spending policies, but the university has yet to respond.
