The month of February is winding down but students at the University of Washington are still actively celebrating Black History Month. Washington’s African Student Association spent last week hosting a series of events for African History Week. Each day, the group focused on a different region in Africa and highlighted the variety of cultures and histories throughout the continent. The week was intended to educate students about Africa’s past and present, and to get a greater number of students involved with the African Student Association.
