Aftershocks Continue in Taser Case

Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm

Students continue to respond to a UCPD officer’s use of a Taser against undergraduate Mostafa Tabatabainejad this week. The UC system is abuzz (as are many other campuses across the country)—we offer a small sampling of the UC’s news coverage here: from UCLA’s Daily Bruin, an article about the Undergraduate Students Association Council resolution opposing “inappropriate force” and suggesting a course of action; from UC Irvine’s New University, an excellent overview of what’s currently known about the incident and student reactions, as well as UC Taser regulations and past use; from Berkeley’s Daily Planet, an article concerning student protests; and from UC Santa Barbara’s Daily Nexus, an overview of the incident and information on the status of Tasers at UCSB.
