AIDS Work Continues

Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm

Peace House Foundation, a national nonprofit based in Minnesota, provides education to children orphaned by AIDS in Tanzania. Marquette students Erin Sheehan and Adrienne DePorre have started the first student chapter of the organization at Marquette University. According to a United Nations report, 980,000 Tanzanian children have lost one or both parents to AIDS. At Stanford University, about 1,000 students will dance for 24 hours to raise money for, and awareness about, HIV/AIDS.  The students hope to raise $100,000 for a nonprofit organization called Partners in Health, which sets up health clinics in some of the world’s poorest nations.
