The Environmental Protection Agency recently awarded Harvard graduate student Eric M. Leibensperger the EPA’s Science to Achieve Results (STAR) fellowship for his research on climate change. The award will help fund Leibensperger’s research. Leibensperger is studying the effects of climate change on air quality in the United States and the effects of aerosols on the global climate. His research already found that increased greenhouse gases have led to fewer cold fronts. Cold fronts are useful for getting rid of air pollution, therefore he hypothesizes that emission reductions over the past 30 years have not been as effective as previously believed.
