At the 35th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court case, abortion politics rile students as it does the country. Last week, eighty students from the University of Kansas traveled to Washington DC to participate with tens of thousands of others in the annual March for Life, a pro-life protest. In Colorado, a ballot initiative entitled “Definition of a Person” would grant constitutional protection of inalienable rights, justice, and due process of fertilized eggs. The initiative, spearheaded by a twenty year old, does not explicitly reference abortion, but is considered a stepping stone to overturn Roe vs. Wade by pro-choice activists.
