Arizona Students May Have to Stop DWT—Driving While Texting

The Arizona State Legislature is considering a bill to ban driving while text messaging. The legislation (which would making DWT a secondary offense, like not wearing your seatbelt), would likely affect students disproportionately—37 percent of people ages 27 and under admit to text messaging or instant messaging while driving. Student reaction was mixed on the proposed legislation, with some students saying that they would continue to text while driving regardless of the law.
