Two student artists have planned Vassar’s first ArtSwap, providing the community’s artists with a venue and an audience for their work. Samantha Stein and Noah Fowler said that they were motivated to organize the event because of lack of opportunity for student artists to display their work. Fowler was initially inspired by a similar event he attended in Troy, New York; he was impressed by the event’s communal and art-affirming qualities. Fowler and Stein are exploring making ArtSwap a yearly event.
