Last week, Brigham Young University administrators lifted the school’s three year long ban on the YouTube web site. For the past three years, school policy blocked access on University servers to YouTube because of content that administrators worried would violate the school’s honor code, such as pornography and violence. Recently, however, faculty have complained that students are missing out on educational videos available on the website. In place of the ban, the administration launched besafe.byu.edu to educate students on the dangers and pitfalls of online content.
