Campus Groups Fight New Incidents of Racism
Thought the racially themed party controversy was over? Two racially themed fraternity parties (“South of the Border” and “International Borders”) caused Cornell University students to hold a rally protesting such actions. Several student groups, including Black Students United, United Progressives, and Amnesty International, spoke against any racially themed parties. Protesters emphasized that this is a national problem, and their rally was meant to draw attention to a growing collegiate trend rather than to make an example out of anyone. Several campus groups at Princeton University have teamed up to decry the recent anti-Semitic picture drawn on a chalkboard in a campus study room. Students have made flyers and signs to raise awareness of the event on campus.
