Campus Police to be Equipped with Tasers

The Ohio University Police Department is being outfitted with five-watt tasers to better protect the campus. The tasers are effective for distances of up to 21 feet, and come with a mounted camera that turns on when the weapon is used. Cameras are designed to aid in accountability, as the non-lethal weapon may be used in any situation where pepper spray is warranted—causing some stirs in the student body.
