Early last week two individuals were shot on the NC State campus. The NC State newspaper, The Technician, was the first to report the shooting which left the two victims injured, one shot in the foot and the other in the abdomen. Police have taken three subjects into custody – one a sophomore and the other two unaffiliated with the university. All three will be charged with attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Arizona also fell victim to a shooting last week when a gunman injured three people in a computer lab on campus. Witnesses testified that the gunman was arguing with one of the victims and began firing after he was punched in the face. Police apprehended the shooter, who has been charged with aggravated assault. South Mountain is providing ongoing counseling for students and faculty affected by the incident.
