In the best commemoration of Martin Luther King, Jr. we’ve heard of (in our humble opinion), more than 200 George Washington Students (plus some other college students) volunteered at the Center for Creative Non-Violence, a D.C. shelter that feeds and cares for as many as 2,500 poor and homeless people a day. The service-based commemoration of the civil rights leader is known as the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, and it is held annually around the time of the MLK holiday.
