According to the Institute for College Access and Success, enrollment at community colleges has increased relative to four-year universities over the past few years and, an increasing number of community college students are applying for federal aid. As tuitions rise, the percentage of students applying for federal aid increased at all types of institutions, but the most dramatic increase came from community colleges.
