Compromise May Give Bowdoin a Community Response Committee

The Bowdoin Student Government (BSG) has reached a tentative agreement with Bowdoin President Barry Mills concerning the creation of a Community Response Committee (CRC). The purpose of the CRC would be to consider Bowdoin’s response to humanitarian issues around the world, such as the Darfur crisis. President Mills initially objected to the formation of the permanent committee called for by the student government. In the agreement they reached, the BSG, rather than the College, will administer the committee.
