Students at the University of Minnesota, the University of Texas Austin, and the University of Delaware participated in “Displace Me” events to raise awareness of the harsh conditions displaced peoples in Uganda face. Students from the University of Minnesota camped out behind Soldier Field in Chicago—3,500 people attended that event. Students from across Texas comprised the better part of the nearly 4,000 people at the Travis County Exposition Center “Displace Me” event. Six thousand people, including 39 students from the University of Delaware, gathered on the D.C. Mall. “Displace Me” was held in at least 15 cities, with an estimated 66,000 to 90,000 participants nationwide.
