Students from the University of Florida are combining their competitive nature with concern for the environment. Dormitory residents compete in an eco-friendly challenge called "Battle of the Halls: Eco Challenge," which runs from now until March 28. Students participating in the competition will do everything from recycling to supporting water and energy reduction. The competition gives students extra motivation to focus on reducing waste and increasing recycling. Seventeen bags of recyclables have already been collected throughout the campus. UF sophomore Dana Sabghir stressed the impact college students can have on the environment: "It is important for students to realize that everything they do and do not do always affects something else."
