Election Season is Underway

Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm

Student Government election season is underway across the country. At Howard University, campaigns kicked of in The Restaurant—a venue some claimed was too small for an event that should impact the entire student body. Others were pleased with the evening’s turnout, pointing out that kick-off events often interest only the candidates and their staffers. Washington State University held its first debate for ASWSU’s Presidential candidates. Multicultural issues were the focus. Northeastern’s Joint Senate is considering a proposal that would reduce the number of weeks a senator is required to be part of the association in order to run for President. The proposal was intended to increase the number of candidates available to the student body.
