Trinity junior Antonio Alcorn—along with two of his friends—started Dormswap because they didn’t like the pricing in their bookstore. Dormswap is an online database that allows students to exchange belongings they no long want (everything from furniture to books), often without exchanging money. It’s free to register for Dormswap, and the site allows users to see items they can exchange. But—even though the site itself does no swapping or selling (it just facilitates students doing that with one another)—Dormswap is forbidden to promote itself on campus because of an exclusivity agreement between Trinity and Barnes & Noble.
