Students at the University of Missouri hoped to raise awareness of Islam as a peaceful religion this year with their Islamic Awareness Week; events included “A Taste of Islam,” and a series of lectures and discussions. A student group at the University of California Los Angeles hosted a panel discussion that talked about the influence of Islamic totalitarianism on Western society, while other students protested the event, calling it Islamophobic.
