An article by Raquel Christie of the University of Maryland’s Diamondback explores the ways that Facebook can connect you—to deceased students. The article, which earned itself at least one reprint in the UMass Amherst’s Daily Collegian, explores the use of Facebook pages as tributes for students who have died. An article from the University of Nebraska explores the same topic, in this case examining use of the Facebook wall of a student who disappeared. Experts say the online grieving can be very useful to students, who are often processing tragic or sudden deaths.
