Harvard University’s Islamic Society recently held its annual Fast-A-Thon, a day-long initiative to raise money for Save the Children’s Hunger and Malnutrition program. For every student who chooses to forego their meal plan during Fast-A-Thon, the Harvard University Dining Services (HUDS) pays Save the Children the cost of their meal plan for that day. Nearly 1,420 students participated, many of them breaking their fast together at sundown at communal dinners hosted by the Islamic Society.
