Focus the Nation, a national teach-in to engage thousands of universities, secondary schools, and businesses in a discussion on finding Global Warming solutions, was held on Thursday at over 1,550 institutions nationwide. The events consisted of a series of lectures and discussion panels, and was kicked off with a live interactive webcast called The 2% Solution. The webcast panel included Stanford University climate scientist, Stephen Schneider, sustainability expert Hunter Lovins, green jobs pioneer Van Jones and youth climate leaders. Students participated in the discussion by text message, and the overwhelming number of responses nationwide caused technical difficulties with the server.
