About 30 students and community members protested an event featuring the University of California Davis’s chancellor, demanding “better wages, health care benefits, and direct employment through UC Davis.”  The event follows a protest earlier in the week in which 24 protesters were arrested. At the University of California Berkeley, about 30 student food service workers protested, demanding to be paid the same wages as non-student food service workers for doing the same work.
