Freshman Starts National Student Book Club

Erica Austin, a freshman at Howard University, published her first book at age nine. The feat earned her a Trumpet Award (an award given to individuals who overcome great odds), and helped her start Youth On The Move Achievers Book Club, which uses hip-hop as a tool for increasing literacy. The book club has recently gone online, allowing its work to be nationwide.
