As California continues to deal with a $584 million budget deficit, California State University-Fresno is cutting courses to deal with severe budget cuts. CSU Fresno will now offer fewer than 3800 course sections, a reduction of up to 1000 classes. Department heads are in charge of deciding which classes to discontinue based on attendance. In some cases, course cancelations mean students will take longer to graduate or will have to pick up additional classes to remain full time students and retain their financial aid.
