JuicyCampus.com is a Web site dedicated to “enabling online anonymous free speech on college campuses.” According to the creator, who has just risen from anonymity himself, the site was meant to be a place where students could come and post the latest gossip about their campuses. Many students, however, are using the site to post defamatory and often racist commentary about others. The site is under investigation by at least two state attorney generals. Mike Hiestand, legal consultant to the Student Press Law Center, says that those seeking reparations shouldn’t get their hopes up. JuicyCampus is protected under Communications Decency Act, which protects online publishers from comments from third parties.
