University of Illinois junior Frank Calabrese recently announced that he was running as the Republican Party nominee for University of Illinois’ State House seat. Nearly half the population of the district is comprised of students, a fact cited by Calabrese when explaining his decision to run. Calabrese, who recently lost his bid for Student Body President said his success would depend on the participation of his peers.
