It may be a sad commentary on the state of our nation, but all it takes is a little lesbian love (and we mean the emotion) to turn a chick flick into a political document of this time and place in history. Bearing that in mind, we turn your attention to the latest showing in the University of Rhode Island’s “Out and Proud Film Series.” Eschewing the beautiful (but so 2006) “Brokeback Mountain” for something a little less seen, members went with “Imagine Me and You”—an example of the rare breed of gay film that manages, radically, to have a happy ending.
