Despite the well-documented
failure of many Christian denominations in the early days of the AIDS epidemic,
Christian students at the University
of San Diego are at the head of an
educational multimedia exhibit detailing the impact of AIDS in Africa. The InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and the Romero Center
for Faith in Action are sponsoring the exhibit, known as Impact 1. Because of the difficult subject matter, which includes
rape, orphaning, and children forced into military service, organizers have
included a prayer wall, a debriefing session, and opportunities for political
action for students who view the exhibition.
