Safety and security plans are being developed on campuses across the country to alert students of any possible dangers when necessary. These emergency plans will allow universities to send out mass text message, email, phone, and fax alerts to students,.  At Penn State officials are working on a system that will also include radio and TV alerts. The University of Kentucky launched their new emergency alert system and are now working through technical kinks.
