Iraqi Student Denied Reentry

Omar al-Dewachi, a Harvard Ph.D. candidate, will have to travel to Baghdad if he wants to finish school. The State Department is refusing to recognize the Harvard student’s Iraqi passport, which was issued before the collapse of Saddam Hussein’s government, thereby preventing him from returning to Harvard to resume his studies. He’s currently in Montreal.
