It’s Job Fair Season—Unless You’re International

As students enter their final semester, many head to job fairs hoping to find their dream jobs. But for international students searching for jobs—even jobs based in other parts of the world—non-citizen status can be a major obstacle to finding any employment. At a recent job fair at the University of Florida, only nine of the 348 employers accepted applications from non-citizens. This is worrisome to students who’d like the opportunity to become citizens; may would require an employer to sponsor them in order to apply for green cards.
