University of New Mexico students on oral contraceptives will have an easier time affording their medication thanks to the student group Spiritual Youth for Reproductive Justice. The group has announced it will pay half the cost of “the pill” for students in response to the recent dramatic increase in price. The cost of contraceptives has risen sharply since January 1, when the 2005 Deficit Reduction Act took effect.
