University of South Dakota senior, Cody Raterman created The Concrete Narcissist to give a voice to underrepresented viewpoints on campus. The first issue premiered this month with 20 columns by 20 authors, a number Raterman is hoping to double by next month’s issue. Raterman claimed the journal does not endorse any specific platform, and seeks writers with different political views. The journal is non-profit, but Raterman stated that some of the proceeds would eventually be used to pay for copy-editing. “I got a grammar lesson from a Comp. 101 teacher but that’s pretty much it,” Raterman said. “I haven’t had anyone threaten to stab me yet.”
