A University of Southern California football player sparked outrage among fellow students when he started a racist Facebook group as an “inside joke.” The student has since apologized, and the group is being run under a different administrator now, who hopes to use the group to educate students about the “ignorance of racism.” The Black Student Union of the University of Delaware held a forum on racially themed parties, which served to educate students on the legacy of blackface as well as provide a platform for discussion. The forum opened with a slideshow of white performers in blackface before showing photos of the recent wave of blackface parties from the University of Oklahoma, Auburn University, Clemson University, Tarleton State University and other colleges.
