This past weekend the University of Illinois hosted the 16th annual Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference, attracting over 1,500 students from schools across the Midwest. The event was held to promote diversity and activism, and to provide a forum for networking among students, staff, and faculty. The Illinois Student Senate sponsored the event with a $1,000 donation.
