Liberal Bias?
According to recent studies, the majority of university faculty identify their political views as liberal rather than conservative. The extent to which their political leanings enter the classroom as bias is a subject of much debate, however. An article from Syracuse University examines the debate, focusing on a conservative student who feels his views make him the subject of scorn and ridicule in the classroom. Others, of course, disagree. In a related article, the Graduate and Professional Student Council of the University of Arizona passed a resolution in support of free exchange on campus, a rebuttal to an article accusing UA professors and graduate students of indoctrinating liberal perspectives.
