A group of 100 students from over 20 universities participated in Louisiana Winter, a student project aimed at persuading Congress to pass legislation based on the Gulf Coast Civic Works Project. Students are advocating for legislation that would employ 100,000 homeless Louisianans and, ultimately, help rebuild the area. Students are also educating their professors and peers about the work that has been done in the Gulf Coast, and the work that still remains.
