On the most voted in election in American history Maryland voters passed a referendum to keep those numbers growing. Maryland approved an amendment to their state constitution that will allow the polls to be open for a full two weeks leading up to Election Day. The decision is particularly significant for students and low-income voters, who are the most likely to be turned away from the polls or are unable to make it in the first place. Maryland joins 34 other states that have early voting.
