May Day Walkouts For Some Students

About 40 Arizona students spoke out against Proposition 300 and rallied others to protest on May 1 with a walkout. Proposition 300 prohibits illegal immigrants from paying in-state tuition or receiving financial aid. The protest will be similar to one held last year, and will again coincide with National Worker’s Day. This year however, May 1 lands on a day reserved for heavy reviewing for finals, meaning some students worry that attending the protest would be an academic risk.
