Last week Students for a Democratic Society at the University of North Carolina held an anti-war protest in the form of a mock draft in response to President Bush’s call to increase the number of troops in Iraq to 20,000. The students used theatrical displays, handouts of fake draft cards, held signs, and set up a fake draft board to sign up students for the draft. The protest was organized in an effort to spread awareness on campus about the war, and to make students realize the severity of the situation. Read more from UNC Chapel Hill |
