More Alternative Spring Break

Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm

Students with Kansas State University’s Christian Challenge, Campus Crusade for Christ, and Community Service Program are spending spring break in New Orleans, rebuilding homes that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Student volunteers with the K-State's Community Service Program will head to Omaha, Chicago, and Dallas (as well as New Orleans) with the program’s Alternative Spring Break. Over 300 students from St. Joseph’s University traveled to Virginia, Kentucky, and West Virginia on Appalachian Experience service trips. The program begins annually in November—giving volunteers time to learn about the town they will be visiting, form bonds with their fellow volunteers, and fundraise.
