More Support for Mixed-Gender Housing

Yet another student body is showing interest in mixed-gender housing. The latest voice in favor of the option is coming from St. Louis, where the Student Union of Washington University passed a resolution of support for mixed-gender housing. While the issue is often framed as one of increased comfort for gay and lesbian students, Lori Weingarten, the President of Pride Alliance at Washington, stresses that the GLBTQIA contingent should not be seen as the primary beneficiaries. “Really, it is an issue for all students, and a question of choice and access,” said Weingarten.
