Muslims Will Not Get Their Own Space

Athletic officials will not establish a designated prayer space for Muslim students at Northwestern’s stadiums and fields, according to the Associate Athletic Director of External Affairs. Muslim students expressed the need for clean prayer space to their Associated Student Government in January, prompting the ASG to request that athletic department officials meet with the students and explore various options. Officials have decided to allow prayer rugs into the stadiums, and let students pray in places that do not block traffic flow.
