No Confidence
Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm
The University of Iowa’s
student body (along with its faculty and staff) passed a vote of “No
Confidence” in the leadership of their Board of Regents. U of I has spent the semester in a fast
simmer (and occasionally a rolling boil) since the Board of Regents rejected a
Search Committee’s four finalists for the University’s next President. A host
of complaints have been swirling around the Head Regent Michael Gartner, and
there’s some serious comment boarding at The
Daily Iowan. As we understand it, the No Confidence vote is largely
symbolic (but if several thousand people ever voted “No Confidence” in us we’d
be very, very embarrassed.)
