No Silent Minority

At Boston University, Asian graduate students, undergraduate students, and professors have begun an initiative to start an Asian Studies department. The initiative does not yet have official recognition from the Student Activities Office, but they’ve already established executive leadership and faculty advisement. In other news, two students at Brown University have formed a group to tackle discrimination against Asian Americans in the college admissions process. The two were prompted to start the group upon learning about the case of Jian Li, who filed a civil rights complaint against Princeton University last year.
