Northwest Students Organize on AIDS
Date: 11/17/2008 05:28 pm
Willamette
University’s Student Global AIDS Campaign organized its first
Northwest AIDS Conference on World AIDS Day (which was December 1st). The group hopes the Conference will help
start chapters of the Student Global AIDS campaign at more colleges and
universities in the northwest. Ten other schools sent students to the
conference. Students from the Willamette
chapter secured Adam Taylor, founder of the national Student Global AIDS
Campaign, as their keynote speaker. Taylor
spoke about the early successes of the student campaign, including getting
President Bush to commit to AIDS funding back in the day (2002).
